Mr. Eric Echard

Year Appointed: 2018
SUNY Fredonia, Mathematics/Mathematics Adolescence Education – B.S.
University at Buffalo, Mathematics – M.A.

Mr. Echard went to college in Western New York with the intent to teach mathematics. He has had numerous insightful, caring, and motivating teachers along the way to Virginia in 2013. Over the course of the time since 2013 he has taught high school and college mathematics where he focuses not only on content but also provides an environment that allows students to develop the patience, perseverance, and effort required to be successful in all things.

Mr. Echard teaches Algebra III, Pre-Calculus II, Statistics, and Calculus at CBGS. He encourages his students to never be afraid of a wrong answer. Mathematics is not always easy and building confidence and creative thought takes a little uncertainty. “Just try something–right or wrong, you’ll never truly understand unless you’ve had the chance to make a few mistakes in the process.”

In his spare time, Mr. Echard likes reading, running with his dog Zipper, and playing strategy games, be they video or board games. Most of all, learning new things is one of his greatest passions which he hopes to pass to his students in all aspects of their lives.
