Dr. John LeRose

Year Appointed: 2014
SUNY Stony Brook, Physics – B.S.
Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Physics – Ph.D.

“Physics applies to everything,” insists Dr. LeRose, who teaches physics, in addition to calculus, to CBGS students. “Every time you turn on a light bulb, ride in a car (bus, train, airplane, boat…), every time you watch TV, send a text, do anything using modern (or not so modern) media, you’re exploiting our knowledge of Physics,” he says.

Dr. LeRose draws from these everyday experiences to help students learn science and math at CBGS, in addition to alluding to the field studies they’ve participated in. He believes that having students recall hands-on experiences can help solidify the abstract concepts they are learning.
