- What qualifications do I need to teach at CBGS?
CBGS faculty must have a Virginia collegiate or postgraduate professional license, or be eligible for a provisional license. Teaching experience or its equivalency is preferred. Due to our dual enrollment program through Rappahannock Community College, CBGS faculty must also hold a master’s degree with sufficient graduate credits in the content area.
- How do I apply to work at CBGS?
Teachers interested in applying to work at CBGS can obtain an application from the Middlesex County Public Schools website (via the above link). All completed applications should also include a resume and cover letter directed to CBGS Director, Terri Perkins.

Mr. Long is a native of coastal Virginia and has spent a great deal of time on the Chesapeake Bay. He spent twenty years in the pharmaceutical industry and returned “home” to teach chemistry.
“Chemistry is my passion,” he says. “It is the fundamental science that connects all the scientific disciplines and helps explain our world.”
Mr. Long loves helping students master chemistry and is looking forward to igniting the excitement that understanding it can bring. Chemistry will also help them in furthering their success as they pursue their studies at CBGS.
