GENERAL FAQ
- What qualifications do I need to teach at CBGS?
CBGS faculty must have a Virginia collegiate or postgraduate professional license, or be eligible for a provisional license. Teaching experience or its equivalency is preferred. Due to our dual enrollment program through Rappahannock Community College, CBGS faculty must also hold a master’s degree with sufficient graduate credits in the content area.
- How do I apply to work at CBGS?
Teachers interested in applying to work at CBGS can obtain an application from the Middlesex County Public Schools website (via the above link). All completed applications should also include a resume and cover letter directed to CBGS Director, Terri Perkins.

Mrs. Jones has spent the last 20 years working in the public school system, 16 of those done here in the Northern Neck. She has been very involved in the athletic programs at each school she has been employed. Mrs. Jones was the head Varsity Softball Coach at Essex High School from 2001 – 2004 and has helped with volleyball over the years. She ran the athletic study hall for many years helping athletes keep their grades up while participating in a sport. She has also spent time as the sponsor for the National Honor Society.
Mrs. Jones has experience teaching Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra 2, Discrete Mathematics, Advanced Placement Statistics, Pre-Calculus, and Calculus. She has taught an SAT Prep course for New River Community College in Dublin, VA. She is very excited to be working with a group of students that are motivated to learn and further their education after high school.
Mrs. Jones is married with two children. When she finds free time she likes working out, reading, and spending time with her family.
