CBGS students have the opportunity to have their research showcased in a variety of publications. CBGS publishes an annual CBGS Research Abstract Bulletin (CRAB) with abstracts of each senior’s research project. Seniors from all three sites present their project at the end of the year at a Science Symposium.

Several CBGS students have also won awards by submitting their research papers to the Virginia Junior Academy of Science (VJAS). Student research projects cover a variety of disciplines. Past research topics have included the microbial loop, saltwater intrusion into groundwater sources, pollinators native to Virginia, invasive epifauna, energy efficiency of roofing materials, and Roundup resistance in soybean fields.
