- What qualifications do I need to teach at CBGS?
CBGS faculty must have a Virginia collegiate or postgraduate professional license, or be eligible for a provisional license. Teaching experience or its equivalency is preferred. Due to our dual enrollment program through Rappahannock Community College, CBGS faculty must also hold a master’s degree with sufficient graduate credits in the content area.
- How do I apply to work at CBGS?
Teachers interested in applying to work at CBGS can obtain an application from the Middlesex County Public Schools website (via the above link). All completed applications should also include a resume and cover letter directed to CBGS Director, Terri Perkins.

Ms. Chenoa Payne will be teaching Biology and Foundations at the Bowling Green Campus. She has experience teaching high school biology/marine biology in Newport News Public Schools, as well as informal education experience through the Virginia Living Museum and Virginia Institute of Marine Science. Her educational background is in environmental science, where she spent time researching ecology of harbor seals and Steller sea lions in Alaska. Ms. Payne loves to communicate science and find practical applications for students to connect to the world around them. She hopes students leave the classroom embracing the lifelong pursuit of learning and knowing they are capable.
